Dr. Kyra uses the CodaPet platform for scheduling. You can view Dr. Kyra's availability, see customized pricing for your size of pet, and book an appointment all through the website 24/7. If you'd prefer to speak with someone, you can call (833) 263-2738 and a customer service representative will walk you through the whole process and answer any questions you have.
Dr. Kyra will reach out via text to personally confirm your appointment details and see if you have any questions or special requests. On the day of your appointment, she will text upon arrival (so as not to rile any pets up with knocking/doorbell) and review what to expect, have you sign a consent form, and proceed with the euthanasia process.
There are no specific limitations on who can be present during euthanasia, the goal is just to be sure your pet is as relaxed as possible and not overwhelmed with a huge crowd. Children are welcome to be present, as long as they've had age-appropriate preparation for what to expect (Dr Kyra can provide suggestions if requested) and there is another adult present or a backup plan.
This decision is up to your discretion, and depends heavily on the dynamics in the home on the day of the appointment. Pets are very intuitive and often seem to understand that Dr Kyra is arriving to help their family member. Most pets prefer to not be around the patient during the sedation and euthanasia process, but may benefit from being allowed to sniff the body of their deceased friend. If you'd like to have another pet present during the process, they are welcome as long as they do not interfere and there is an option to contain them elsewhere if they become distressed and/or distracting.
